About US
Welcome to Evoke Creatives! We are a small group of community-based activists in Tkaronto connecting music artists with environmental non-profits, charities, and other advocacy groups. We are dedicated to reclaiming our roots and embracing decolonial practices, where the convergence of cultural traditions and music fosters lifestyles and community norms that sustain our planet.
Through the power of music, we offer a pathway for environmental organizations to inspire action in ways not achievable through conventional strategies like workshops, webinars, plant-a-tree programs, and peer-to-peer fundraising. Music artists are the cultural producers of our time — they play a critical role in responding to the changes underway, generating new possibilities, and igniting meaningful change.
Our mission is to bring more racialized communities to the frontlines of the global environmental movement through music.
We recognize the disproportionate impacts of climate change and environmental issues on racialized communities. Yet the relational intricacies between social justice issues and environmental racism are frequently overlooked, including food security, housing, and employment. This has caused a disconnect between the “environmental movement” and conversations around social justice, making this movement monochromatic and often exclusive to those of higher socioeconomic classes.
Tapping into the power of our global community, we work collaboratively with music artists and environmental organizations to bring more racial representation into the environmental justice space.
