JESS (SHE/THEY)
I’m Jess! I’m a grad student and researcher, and much of my work involves mobility justice, arts-based research methods, and QTBIPOC activism. I’ve worked with bicycle organizations like The Bike Brigade and Charlie’s Freewheels to explore how BIPOC cyclists create their own networks of care through bicycling. Some things that energize me are connecting with like-minded folks, creating, spotting neighbourhood cats, and colours. Thanks for checking out our project. :)

RACHEL WANG (SHE/HER)
I believe artists/the arts/artistic expression play a critical role in shaping Toronto culture: what becomes ‘the norm’, how we make sense of our identities, who can challenge the status quo. We need more avenues that allow us to tap into our creative consciousness and bring our ideas to life. After over a decade of existing in environmental advocacy and activist spaces, I’m finding beauty and joy in seeing how creative expression can also be an act of resistance and resurgence. This zine is us playing and learning in this space!
Founding Executive Director of the Bike Brigade, CK’s Top 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders.
The system is sh*t, work is sh*t, we’re grasping for things like art to know that others are experiencing the same thing.
