Cindy’s submission received a multitude of praises from our judges panel (mentors of the #Visions2025 project). Her fashion collection “Finders Keepers” illustrates her vision of how we can transform our ideas around “luxury”.

Cindy’s inspiration for “Finders Keepers” came from her interest to learn more about English culture. She read about how this culture was very rooted in rigid and conservative society, focused on maintaining traditions, and has now become one of the world’s most “progressive and modern”.

Researching this evolution of culture was a fun experiment for Cindy. It inspired her to think of ways that the fashion industry - in its stagnant state - could transition to become more advanced and sustainable. She found the Ascot event through researching classic traditions that are still prevalent to this day.

When asked about the role that media and celebrities have in debunking the belief that luxury must be excessive and wasteful, Cindy said that a huge appeal of celebrity culture is wealth and the abundance of possessions. Celebrities and influencers need to adopt messaging that advocates for fashion sustainability. You don’t need to own anything to become someone worthy.

As represented in Cindy’s 2025 vision statement (below!), you can see that she has a range of innovative ideas to transform the fashion industry. She is currently researching methods on how food waste can be turned into fabric, as well as other technological advancements in fabric production, including 3D-printed clothing.

We wish Cindy the best of luck as she begins her studies at Central Saint Martins!
