Celebrate Earth Day with us on April 22, 2019!
Bringing together music artists for environmental good.
FAQs
1. What is the purpose of this event?
The purpose is to bring together music artists that are integrating environmental content into their lyrics, videos and/or public relations. It is also to inspire other artists to begin creatively thinking about how to do this. As a community, our message will be much more powerful.
2. What if I don’t know what kind of environmental content to sing about?
Evoke Creatives has a network of environmental professionals that are here to help you with your creative process. Our team can coordinate 1-1 sessions, group workshops and hands-on experiential learning for music artists. You can get in touch by filling out the form here.
3. What do I get from submitting a song?
Promotion. The Top 40 submissions will be promoted on multiple platforms leading up to Earth Day to encourage people to follow artists and vote.
Priority. Entrants will be prioritized for Evoke Creatives’ programming and events.
People’s Choice Award. The entrant with the submission that has the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award prize package (will be announced).
4. Why am I submitting my music to this organization?
Evoke Creatives is a registered social enterprise dedicated to building the profile of music artists in the environmental movement. We are not a record label or publishing company. Contributors of each submission will maintain ownership rights of their material. We encourage you to reach out to us if you have any concerns!
5. Why is called Earth Day ‘Top 40’?
Evoke Creatives is focused on engaging a specific demographic in environmental stewardship. Our value proposition points to the power of media pop culture in spreading awareness and mobilizing collective action in urban centres. That said, we encourage submissions from other genres, as well as spoken word artists.
6. How are the Top 40 submissions selected?
Submissions will be screened by the Evoke Creatives team and sent to the Judges. They will be judged on the quality of the lyrics, environmental creativity, melody (not applicable to spoken word submissions), and overall originality. Production quality will not be considered. The number of finalists may not necessarily total 40 songs. When in doubt, connect with Evoke Creatives on social media and ask us!
7. Can I submit a song I have already written and/or produced?
Yes!
